Wide plant spacing: to insure that our trees and shrubs have enough room to develop proper head growth, shape, and strength. Time-controlled drip irrigation system: to maintain the soil moisture at levels that optimize the overall health, vigor, and growth rate of each species. Proper pruning practices: to thin, correct, and shape in order to achieve a strong limb structure and a well balanced plant. Staking and tying: to try and produce the kind of straight trunks and stable root balls that are expected of quality grown nursery stock. Pest management: to scout routinely and establish low thresholds that help us to maintain clean bed spaces and clean plants. Striving to improve: to test everything we do, from soil mixes and fertilizers to tissue analysis, so that with each trial and error we get closer to developing a better product. |
